On June 12, 2006, the cranium of an 8- to 20-year-old male was discovered on a beach on Shishmaref Island, Alaska, around 5-7 miles southwest of the town. Authorities believe that young man was of Alaskan Native heritage, specifically Western Alaska, near Nome. The accompanying images are facial reconstructions created by NCMEC forensic artists and may depict what the young man looked like in life.
