On June 20th, 1974, the skeletal remains of an unidentified child were discovered along the 100 block of Country Club Drive in Mill Valley, California. Based on the condition of the remains, the child had likely been deceased approximately 2 years prior to discovery. The child was considerably small for their age. The child was found wearing a child-size olive-green hooded ski coat, a blue sweater, a green-striped shirt, and blue T-shirt. Also found with the remains was a red "ladybug" stick pin. The child had a gray-blue discoloration on their teeth, possibly due to the use of antibiotics or tetracyclines. The reconstruction featured above is an artist’s rendering of what the John Doe may have looked like.
