On February 5, 2006, the skeletal remains of a 17-19-year-old female were found by a truck driver alongside the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near mile marker 66.9 in La Paz County, AZ. It is estimated that the child died 3-6 months prior to discovery. She is believed to have been approximately 5 feet tall. She had medium to dark brown hair, approximately 20 inches in length. Found with the remains were black denim pants (possibly size 11), and a navy-blue fleece (‘sky’ brand, size medium). Recent developments indicate a genetic heritage in both Mexico and Guatemala. The image is a facial reconstruction that depicts what the young lady may have looked like in life.
