"America’s Most Wanted" is back with new missing persons special
The hunt is on again—but this mission has always been about more than capturing fugitives. From the start, America’s Most Wanted (AMW) helped bring missing children home. Now, that commitment grows with the launch of America's Most Wanted: Missing Persons.
Each week, a team of crime experts will delve deep into missing persons cases—investigating key locations and uncovering critical details to bring back to viewers in hopes of solving these mysteries. This new three-week series, premiering Monday, April 28, at 8 p.m. ET, is dedicated to spotlighting missing children and adults. The program will air right before America’s Most Wanted.

For 37 years, America’s Most Wanted has redefined how this country fights crime. The show has helped capture more than 1,100 fugitives and recover dozens of missing children. In 2011, the show was canceled on FOX. Then, in 2024, the network brought back John Walsh along with his son Callahan to lead the charge.
“We set out to give victims a voice, put the worst of the worst behind bars—and bring children home where they belong,” said John Walsh. “This show has always been about justice. Now, with Callahan by my side, it means even more. The public and law enforcement have always had our backs—and that partnership is what makes this work."
Last season, two children who were abducted by their fugitive parents were found safe shortly after their case appeared on the show. But some kids still need your help. These cases featured last season still remain unsolved.

America’s Most Wanted began in February 1988, when John Walsh and FOX turned viewers into crime-fighting partners. Within days of its debut, a viewer’s tip led to the capture of a convicted killer on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list. If their face appeared in an episode, fugitives knew their days were numbered. Even convicted murderer John Eastlack admitted, “It’s a damn good show. I mean, it caught me!”
John Walsh never stopped. After AMW's original run, he carried the mission forward with other television shows, The Hunt with John Walsh and In Pursuit. In 2024, FOX revived the original show with John, and this time, Callahan is by his side.
“Joining my dad on America's Most Wanted is truly an honor,” said Callahan Walsh. “This mission shaped my family’s life. I grew up seeing firsthand how important this work is, and now I get to stand beside him to help carry it forward.”
More than 30 years since the original show premiered, the world is now saturated with true crime content; but AMW still stands above the rest with a mission rooted in purpose, not just storytelling. It’s a relentless pursuit of justice, a promise to families who refuse to give up and proof that one tip can change everything.
Because if there’s one thing John Walsh, NCMEC and this legacy have shown—it’s that you can make a difference.
