WHAT IS MILES FOR HOPE?
Miles for Hope is an awareness and fundraising event to support the work of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). There is nothing more important than the health and safety of your family and Miles for Hope combines both exercise and child safety together in one, fun filled campaign. The event will take place the entire month of September and participation will be open across the United States.
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
You can ride, walk, run, swim, hike, skateboard - the choice is yours! Participate in a small group (according to local guidelines) or on your own. Log your miles in one day or spread your miles out over the course of the month – the choice is yours.
DO I NEED TO COMMIT TO A CERTAIN NUMBER OF MILES?
There is no mileage commitment – set a goal and see what you can achieve! Choose a time, location and distance that works for you. Whether you log 1 mile or 100, every mile toward awareness matters!
IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?
There is a $25 registration fee for Miles for Hope. The registration fee will be applied to your fundraising goal.
CAN WE REGISTER AS A FAMILY OR TEAM?
YES, Teams can be made up of family members, friends, and colleagues! Think of as many people as you can and invite them to join you on your mission to make children safer.
Team members do not need to select a single activity – your team can be made up of riders, walkers, runners & swimmers – everyone can participate in their own way! If you plan to participate as a group please adhere to local guidelines and practice proper social distancing.
HOW DO I START A TEAM?
Teams must be started by a Team Captain so designate someone (or yourself) as the team captain. Check out our Team Captain’s Guide for more information.
During the registration process, select “Register and CREATE a Team” and proceed with the questions. Once you’re registered, let your teammates know the name of your team, and name of the captain, since they may have to search the system for your name to join.
