Teaching Teens to Text Smarter
With the rapid increase in the use of social media, texting, email and countless other methods of communication, it can be so difficult to keep tabs on who our kids are talking to these days.
But the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is here to help with Internet safety and prevention programs from the NetSmartz® Workshop.
Among the most recent tools is a breakthrough video NetSmartz is promoting titled “Your Photo Fate.”
This important video engages teens by showing them the chain of events they set off when they text or email a photo. Your Photo Fate demonstrates to teens in no uncertain terms that once they send a photo online, there’s no way to control it. It’s out of their hands.
Please watch Your Photo Fate and then share it with others to help us get the word out to children, teens and their families about texting safety.
With videos like Your Photo Fate and a deep library of other tools, NetSmartz is providing kids, parents and other adults with the knowledge they need to have a safer experience both online and off. But programs like NetSmartz wouldn’t be possible without the help from generous friends like you.
So in addition to helping us get the word out about just how dangerous it is for kids to text inappropriate photos, please also make a donation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children right now.
The more parents and concerned adults supporting NCMEC, the greater an impact we can make on the behalf of the children in our lives.
